Reporting directly to the Electrical Shutdown Supervisor and Maintenance Lead, the Electrical Lighting Technician will perform the following daily site tasks:

• Hazardous-Area Lighting Inspection: Conduct pre-shutdown inspections and troubleshooting on explosion-proof (Ex-rated) lighting fixtures, junction boxes, and emergency battery units within hazardous plant zones.

• Installation & Replacement: Remove damaged or obsolete industrial light fixtures; install, wire, and mount new LED floodlights, high-bay lights, walkway illumination units, and perimeter lighting fixtures according to electrical schematics.

• Cable Gland & Wiring Connections: Terminate armored cables using proper Ex-certified cable glands, assemble junction box connections, and ensure correct earthing/grounding continuity across lighting circuits.

• Panel Maintenance & Breaker Testing: Inspect lighting distribution boards (LDBs), clean busbars, replace faulty miniature circuit breakers (MCBs), contactors, and residual current devices (RCDs).

• Industrial Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to oil and gas plant permit-to-work (PTW) procedures, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) safety isolation protocols, and working-at-heights safety measures using safety harnesses and scaffolding.
