1. Key Responsibilities & Technical Operations
As an ELV / CCTV Technician, your daily site operations will involve setting up, maintaining, and repairing low-voltage systems in line with project specifications and safety guidelines:
- Install, position, terminate, and configure IP and analog CCTV cameras, Network Video Recorders (NVR/DVR), access control readers, magnetic locks, and barrier systems.
- Pull, route, dress, and terminate Cat6, fiber optic, and low-voltage cabling through conduits, cable trays, and trunking.
- Perform systematic troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, and emergency repairs on malfunctioning ELV equipment, public address systems, and intercom networks.
- Execute routine preventative maintenance schedules, lens cleaning, firmware updates, and power supply checks across client facilities.
- Verify network connectivity, IP addressing, video retention, and remote viewing capabilities for security control rooms.
- Collaborate with project engineers and site supervisors to complete testing and commissioning reports.
