Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Supplier Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and pre-qualify reliable local and international suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for construction materials, machinery, and commercial goods.
• Purchasing & Purchase Order Execution: Review material requisitions from project sites or sales departments, issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs), analyze bids, and issue Purchase Orders (POs) accurately.
• Negotiation & Cost Control: Negotiate unit prices, credit payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions with suppliers to maximize cost savings while maintaining technical quality standards.
• Delivery Tracking & Expediting: Monitor supplier lead times, track material dispatches, ensure timely delivery to warehouse or project sites, and resolve shipment or delivery discrepancies.
• Compliance & Invoice Verification: Coordinate with warehouse storekeepers and finance teams to match purchase orders, delivery notes, and vendor invoices prior to payment processing.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Work Experience: Proven practical procurement or purchasing experience, specifically within the construction, building materials, MEP, or trading sector in Qatar or the GCC.
• Market Knowledge: Strong, practical **knowledge of the Qatari local market**, vendor networks, commercial prices, and municipal compliance standards.
• Technical & Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, or specialized procurement software), and contract management.
• Core Competencies: Excellent negotiation, analytical, supplier relations, and problem-solving skills with strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Residency Status: Candidates currently residing in Qatar with a valid Qatar ID (QID) and transferable visa/NOC status ready for immediate joining are preferred.
