Qatar Resident Medical Test & Fingerprint Process for New Employees

Completing the mandatory health screening at the Medical Commission and registering biometric fingerprints are two obligatory hurdles every expatriate worker must complete to obtain their initial Qatar ID (QID).

Understanding the process, fee structure, and location details ensures you complete your residency registration within the required timeline without delays or fines.

Step-by-Step Overview of the Residency Medical Process

1.Medical Test Booking & Payment:

Upon entry to Qatar on an employment visa, your employer (or PRO) books a screening appointment via the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) portal. The standard fee is QAR 100 per applicant.

2.Medical Commission Testing Day:

Attend your scheduled appointment at the main Medical Commission facility in Abu Hamour or designated private health centers. You will undergo a blood test (screening for HIV, Hepatitis B & C) and a chest X-ray (screening for Tuberculosis).

3.Blood Type Test:

If not already documented, you will obtain an official Blood Group Certificate from a certified clinic or during your Medical Commission screening for QAR 50 or less.

4.Biometric Fingerprinting (CEID):

Once your medical results clear, proceed to the Criminal Evidence and Information Department (CEID) or designated MOI Services Centers (such as Mesaimeer, Al Khor, or Pearl Qatar) for digital fingerprinting and photo capture.

Required Documents to Bring

Make sure to bring physical copies of the following to your testing center:

• Original Passport (valid for at least 6 months).

• 2 Copies of Entry Visa / Visa Approval Slip.

• Medical Appointment Payment Receipt / Appointment Slip.

• Company Computer Card (Copy) (often handled by the company PRO).

Checking Medical Test Results Online

You can track your screening status online within 24 to 48 hours of your test:

1. Visit the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) Web Portal.

2. Select "Medical Commission Status Check".

3. Enter your Visa Number or Passport Number along with the appointment reference.

4. Once marked "Passed", your medical results automatically sync with the Ministry of Interior (MOI) system to proceed with QID card printing.
