1. Key Responsibilities & Financial Operations
As a General Ledger Accountant, your daily accounting functions will encompass ledger maintenance, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support:
- Prepare, verify, and post journal entries (JEs) for daily transactions, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset depreciation, and provisions in accordance with IFRS.
- Perform month-end and year-end financial closing activities, ensuring accurate trial balance preparation and account roll-forwards.
- Conduct comprehensive bank reconciliations, intercompany balance reconciliations, and balance sheet account analysis to identify and resolve variances promptly.
- Maintain fixed asset registers, track capital expenditure (CapEx), and verify physical asset inventory against accounting records.
- Assist the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager in preparing monthly management reports, budget vs. actual variance analysis, and financial statements.
- Prepare audit schedules, compile supporting documentation for internal and external auditors, and ensure strict adherence to corporate governance and local statutory compliance.
