1. Key Responsibilities & Site Store Operations
As a Site Storekeeper, your daily functions will center on material receiving, inventory tracking, stock issuing, and recordkeeping:
- Receive incoming construction materials, equipment, and tools on site; cross-check deliveries against purchase orders (POs) and delivery notes (DNs).
- Inspect incoming shipments for quality, quantity, and damage, immediately reporting discrepancies or rejections to procurement and site engineers.
- Issue materials, tools, and consumables to site foremen and subcontractors against approved Material Issue Requisitions (MIR).
- Maintain accurate daily inventory records, stock cards, and computerized logs using MS Excel or inventory software.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and safe stacking of materials (e.g., cement, steel, chemicals, safety gear) according to site safety guidelines.
- Conduct periodic physical stock audits, track reorder levels to prevent material shortages, and coordinate with central warehouse and logistics teams.
