Core Duties & Financial Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and Chief Accountant, the Accountant will perform the following daily operational tasks:

• General Ledger & Financial Records: Maintain accurate daily accounting entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, process journal entries, and keep comprehensive digital financial archives.

• Invoicing & Accounts Receivable: Issue client sales invoices, track outstanding receivables, send payment follow-ups, reconcile customer ledger accounts, and process bank receipts.

• Payables Management: Verify vendor invoices, match purchase orders against delivery notes, process supplier payments, and reconcile vendor statements regularly.

• Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing: Assist in preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, trial balances, cash flow statements, and bank reconciliation reports.

• VAT & Tax Compliance: Prepare, calculate, and verify VAT documentation, submit tax returns via the Qatari tax portal (Dhareeba), and assist external auditors during annual statutory audit reviews.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this accounting vacancy in Doha, applicants should satisfy the following criteria:

• Educational Attainment: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce from an accredited university.

• Work Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a trading, contracting, or commercial business in Qatar or the GCC.

• Tax & Regulatory Knowledge: Proven understanding of Value Added Tax (VAT) concepts, financial reporting standards (IFRS), and local Qatari tax procedures.
