Position Summary

Brunel is currently recruiting an expert Control / System Engineering Specialist for a 2-year contract role in Qatar. This specialized position provides high-level technical oversight, troubleshooting, and coordination for mission-critical industrial control and safety systems across major operating facilities, including DCS, PLC, Triconex safety systems, and Compressor Control Corporation (CCC) systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Industrial Control Support: Provide specialist technical engineering support for Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Triconex Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems, and CCC turbomachinery controls.
• Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Lead technical investigations into system trips, loop faults, hardware anomalies, and communication bus failures across operating units.
• Technical Decision Support: Deliver high-level technical recommendations to operations and project managers regarding control strategy modifications, system retrofits, and software updates.
• Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Liaise between instrumentation maintenance, process control, IT/cybersecurity, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to resolve complex system issues.
• Maintenance & Asset Tracking: Utilize SAP and engineering tools to track system modifications, management of change (MOC) implementations, and maintenance tasks.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Expert-level domain knowledge of industrial control systems, specifically **DCS, PLC, Triconex safety instrumented systems (SIS), and CCC controllers**.
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of spoken and written English for technical reports, procedures, and cross-functional leadership communications.
• Software & ERP Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hands-on experience using **SAP** for maintenance and engineering workflows.
• Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, problem-solving mindset, and ability to manage multi-disciplinary technical teams effectively.
