Position Summary

Brunel is currently recruiting a qualified Rotating Equipment Engineering Specialist for a major onshore contract role in Qatar. This specialized engineering position provides technical oversight and expertise across design reviews, technical studies, pre-commissioning, startup, failure analysis, machinery surveillance, and long-term reliability enhancement for heavy rotating machinery in oil and gas processing facilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Engineering & Design Reviews: Lead technical evaluations, design reviews, and engineering studies for critical rotating machinery packages (turbines, compressors, pumps).
• Commissioning & Startup Support: Provide specialized engineering guidance during pre-commissioning, mechanical completion, no-load runs, and live plant startup.
• Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis: Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on machinery trips, high vibration events, seal failures, and mechanical breakdowns.
• Surveillance & Reliability Improvement: Perform routine machinery condition monitoring, vibration analysis, and performance tracking to optimize asset availability and reduce downtime.
• Technical Recommendations: Deliver expert advice on gas turbines, centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, dry gas seals, lubrication systems, and auxiliary equipment.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Attainment: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or a related physical science discipline.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the oil and gas sector focusing on rotating machinery.
• Technical Expertise: Deep domain knowledge of gas turbines, compressors, dry gas seals (DGS), heavy-duty pumps, gearboxes, and industrial machinery.
• Standards & Codes: Thorough understanding of API standards (API 610, API 612, API 617, API 692, API 670) and industry best practices.
