Position Summary

Brunel is urgently recruiting a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Specialist for a long-term onshore contract assignment in Qatar. This specialized role provides high-level mechanical technical guidance during critical Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phases, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and plant startup. The specialist will deliver engineering reviews, technical troubleshooting, reliability assessments, and expert recommendations to ensure seamless plant handover and asset integrity.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• EPC Technical Support: Provide high-level technical oversight during EPC design reviews, engineering modifications, and vendor package evaluations for static and rotating equipment.
• Commissioning & Startup Oversight: Lead mechanical engineering support during pre-commissioning, loop testing, machinery alignment, trial runs, and plant startup operations.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex mechanical anomalies, piping stress issues, and equipment vibration or alignment faults during plant integration.
• Reliability & Quality Assurance: Review preservation protocols, quality records, and operational readiness deliverables to safeguard long-term mechanical reliability.
• Expert Recommendations: Deliver clear engineering evaluations and corrective action reports to project directors, EPC contractors, and operations personnel.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Attainment: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a relevant Science field with a Mechanical Engineering major.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the oil and gas industry, with proven expertise across major EPC project phases, commissioning, or operational startup.
• Specialist Competency: Demonstrated specialist-level technical depth in mechanical systems, rotating machinery, static equipment, and industry codes (API, ASME, ANSI).
• GCC Project Background: Previous experience on major onshore oil & gas processing facilities, LNG plants, or refinery projects in the GCC is highly advantageous.
