1. Key Responsibilities & Document Management Operations
As a Construction Document Controller, your daily duties will center on maintaining systematic control over all project deliverables and technical communications:
- Receive, log, track, and distribute incoming and outgoing project documentation, including architectural/engineering drawings, shop drawings, Material Submittals (MAR), Requests for Information (RFI), and Inspection Requests (IR).
- Implement and maintain strict electronic and hard-copy filing systems, document tracking logs, and revision registers to guarantee effective version control.
- Process official project correspondence, technical reports, site instructions, and meeting minutes between clients, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors.
- Utilize Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and specialized databases to archieve and retrieve project documents efficiently.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing documents to ensure strict compliance with project naming conventions, formatting rules, and corporate brand standards.
- Assist project managers and site engineers during project handover phases by preparing complete as-built documentation, operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals, and closeout archives.
