1. Key Responsibilities & Financial Operations
As a Construction Accountant, your daily responsibilities will revolve around project financial accounting, cash flow management, and compliance:
- Maintain complete day-to-day general ledgers, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and project cost accounting.
- Process contractor and subcontractor payment certificates (IPC), client invoicing, supplier billings, and retention money accounts.
- Manage staff and site labor payroll, including Wages Protection System (WPS) processing, overtime calculations, and end-of-service benefits (EOSB).
- Ensure strict adherence to Qatar tax regulations, financial compliance, and VAT processing/reporting requirements.
- Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash distributions, vendor ledgers, and site expense logs on a monthly basis.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flow forecasts, and project profitability reports for senior management.
