Core Duties and Technical Responsibilities

The Electrical Technician will work within plant maintenance teams to ensure operational uptime, safety compliance, and system integrity across electrical power distribution networks:

• Electrical Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, service, test, and troubleshoot LV/HV switchgears, transformers, induction motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.

• Hazardous Area Equipment Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance and inspection on Explosion-Proof (Ex-d/Ex-e) rated electrical fixtures, junction boxes, and motors according to ATEX / IECEx safety standards.

• Motor Control Centers (MCC): Overhaul, wire, and troubleshoot MCC panels, circuit breakers, protective relays, magnetic contactors, and control circuits.

• Cabling & Glanding Work: Execute heavy-duty power and control cable laying, tray installation, glanding, lugging, and high-voltage/low-voltage cable terminations.

• Safety & Permitting Compliance: Strictly follow Permit-to-Work (PTW) protocols, gas clearance testing, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety measures, and site HSE guidelines.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational Credentials: Industrial Training Institute (ITI) trade certificate in Electrical or 3-Year Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
