Core Operational & Site Responsibilities
The Mechanical Site Engineer will report to the Project Manager / Lead MEP Manager and oversee day-to-day mechanical site installation, testing, and commissioning activities:
Site Supervision & Quality Control: Oversee installation activities for HVAC ductwork, chilled water piping, split/FCU units, plumbing/drainage systems, and fire protection networks to ensure strict compliance with approved shop drawings and Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).
Work Progress & Scheduling: Coordinate daily work sequences with site foremen, subcontractors, and main contractor civil teams to ensure progress aligns with master project schedules.
Inspection Requests (IR/WIR): Raise Work Inspection Requests (WIR) for consultant inspection, execute joint site walks with supervising consultants, and rectify site comments or non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Material & Testing Coordination: Inspect incoming mechanical materials against approved submittals (MAR), oversee hydro-testing for piping, duct leakage testing, and system flushing.
Safety Compliance (HSE): Enforce strict site safety protocols, ensure proper execution of Permit to Work (PTW) guidelines, and verify hazard controls during heavy mechanical lifting or high-elevation installations.
Candidate Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for this site engineering role in Lusail, candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university (MME / UPDA registration in Qatar is a distinct advantage).
Site Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on site supervision experience in commercial buildings, residential towers, or infrastructure projects across Qatar or the GCC.
Technical Mastery: Strong working knowledge of Kahramaa MEP standards, Civil Defense (QCCD) fire-fighting codes, ASHRAE, SMACNA, and QCS guidelines.
