Position Summary

Kintec Global Recruitment is currently seeking a highly qualified Engineering Lead — Process on behalf of a major Oil & Gas Operator client in Qatar. This contract position carries an initial 3-year assignment duration and is responsible for leading, coordinating, and overseeing all process engineering activities across major energy projects, delivering technical leadership, quality assurance, and supervisory management to the multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Process Engineering Leadership: Lead and coordinate core process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, heat and material balances, equipment sizing, and utility balance calculations.
• Technical Oversight & Assurance: Direct technical reviews of FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and Detailed Engineering packages submitted by EPC contractors to ensure compliance with operator design standards and safety norms.
• Team Supervision: Provide direct supervisory direction, mentor junior and senior process engineers, assign task priorities, and track deliverable milestones.
• Process Safety & Risk Reviews: Lead or actively participate in technical safety workshops including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL classification, LOPA, and QRA sessions for process systems.
• Interface Management: Coordinate seamlessly with mechanical, instrument, electrical, and piping discipline leads, operating personnel, and project management teams to resolve interdisciplinary design queries.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Total Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of total engineering experience within major industrial projects.
• Oil & Gas Experience: At least 4 years of dedicated experience in the oil and gas sector (upstream, offshore, or gas processing facilities).
• Supervisory Track Record: Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory, team lead, or acting leadership capacity managing process engineering teams.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering from an accredited university.
• Technical Software Knowledge: Proficient with industry-standard process simulation tools (e.g., HYSYS, PRO/II) and technical standards (API, ISO, DEP/Operator specs).
