Position Summary

Brunel is currently seeking a highly experienced Head of Engineering (Studies) for a major 36-month contract role in Qatar. This executive-level engineering position is responsible for providing technical leadership, overseeing complex multi-disciplinary engineering studies, managing key project interfaces, and delivering critical decision support across large-scale energy developments.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Engineering Leadership: Provide overarching technical direction and strategic governance for multi-disciplinary engineering teams executing conceptual, FEED, and feasibility studies.
• Study Management: Direct the scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables for complex engineering studies, technical reviews, and value assurance gates.
• Interface Management: Coordinate cross-functional interfaces between subsurface, facilities, operations, safety, and EPC execution entities.
• Decision Support: Analyze complex technical risks, trade-off studies, and economic evaluations to deliver executive-level recommendations to project directors.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with company technical standards, international codes, and Qatari environmental and regulatory frameworks.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Attainment: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or related discipline) from a recognized university. Master's degree or Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Work Experience: Extensive senior engineering leadership experience in major oil and gas, petrochemical, or large infrastructure projects.
• Technical Expertise: Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary engineering studies (Pre-FEED, FEED, Select/Define phases) and managing major contractor interfaces.
• Soft Skills: Outstanding executive communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, and organizational coordination skills.
