Position Summary

A reputable Trading & Contracting Company in Qatar is currently seeking an experienced and result-driven Procurement Officer for full-time employment. This strategic commercial role involves managing the end-to-end procurement cycle, identifying and vetting qualified suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing and payment terms, and cultivating robust vendor relationships to support ongoing contracting projects and trading operations across Qatar.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Supplier Sourcing & Selection: Identify, evaluate, and establish strong commercial relationships with local and international suppliers, vendors, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
• Commercial Negotiations: Negotiate unit pricing, credit terms, volume discounts, delivery schedules, and warranty terms to secure maximum cost efficiency for the business.
• End-to-End Procurement Management: Process material requisitions (MR), issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), conduct technical/commercial bid comparisons, and finalize Purchase Orders (POs).
• Supply Chain & Logistics Tracking: Coordinate with freight forwarders, logistics partners, and clearing agents to track shipments and ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites or warehouses.
• Vendor Management & Evaluation: Maintain an updated database of approved suppliers and conduct periodic vendor performance assessments based on product quality, delivery speed, and pricing compliance.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Work Experience: Proven track record of procurement or purchasing experience within a trading, contracting, or supply chain organization in Qatar or the broader GCC region.
• Vendor Network: An established network of local Qatar suppliers and regional distributors is highly preferred.
• Core Skills: Excellent commercial negotiation skills, strong numerical aptitude, and proficiency in supply chain software/ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics) and advanced MS Excel.
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Residency Status: Candidates residing in Qatar with a valid QID and transferable visa/NOC are preferred for immediate hiring.
