Core Duties and MEP Quantity Surveying Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager / Lead QS, the MEP Quantity Surveyor will manage project cost control and commercial submittals across electrical and mechanical systems:

• Quantity Take-off & BOQ Preparation: Execute detailed quantity take-offs for HVAC, electrical power/lighting, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems from engineering drawings using PlanSwift or AutoCAD.

• Valuation & Interim Payment Certificates (IPC): Prepare, verify, and submit monthly interim payment applications to consultants/clients; assess subcontractor monthly valuations and progress payments.

• Variation Evaluation & Cost Claims: Identify, quantify, and cost design variations, site changes, and scope additions; compile justification claims for client review and commercial negotiation.

• Subcontract Commercial Management: Prepare MEP subcontract tender documents, perform tender evaluations, conduct price negotiations, draft agreement terms, and manage subcontractor accounts.

• Final Accounts & Cost Reporting: Prepare detailed final account settlements, track cash flows against budgets, assist in monthly cost value reconciliations (CVR), and monitor material re-measurement.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this MEP Quantity Surveyor vacancy in Qatar, candidates must fulfill the following mandatory criteria:

• Educational Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university. (RICS membership or UPDA/MMUP registration is an added advantage).

• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of direct experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor in commercial buildings, high-rise towers, or infrastructure projects in Qatar or the GCC.
