Core Operational & Technical Duties

Working within plant maintenance and turn-around teams, the Instrument Technician will execute the following core responsibilities:

• Field Instrumentation Servicing: Install, inspect, calibrate, and maintain field instruments including pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters, switches, and gauges.

• Control Valve & Actuator Maintenance: Overhaul, stroke-check, positioner-calibrate, and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, and motorized control valves, safety relief valves (SRVs), and emergency shutdown valves (ESDVs).

• Loop Testing & Commissioning: Execute loop checks, signal verification (4-20mA, HART protocol, Foundation Fieldbus), and functional testing from field instruments to Distributed Control Systems (DCS) / Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

• Impulse Tubing & Wiring: Perform precision impulse line tubing fabrication, bending, leak testing, and junction box wiring according to P&ID and instrument loop diagrams.

• Plant Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to Permit-to-Work (PTW) protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, gas testing clearances, and site-specific HSE regulations in hazardous classified areas.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements
