Position Summary

Petroserv Limited is currently seeking a certified and vigilant Safety Officer (HSE) for a contract position supporting oil and gas operations in Mesaieed, Qatar. This role is responsible for driving field Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance, carrying out daily site inspections, executing job safety risk assessments, and facilitating safety training and toolbox talks across active work sites.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• HSE Compliance & Inspection: Conduct continuous safety walk-throughs across processing plants and construction sites in Mesaieed to ensure full adherence to Qatar Energy and internal HSE standards.
• Risk Assessment & Permit Audit: Execute Job Safety Analyses (JSA), evaluate site hazards, and monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) protocols, including hot work, confined space entry, and heavy lifting.
• Safety Inductions & Training: Lead daily Tool Box Talks (TBT), site safety orientation sessions, and emergency response drills for engineers, technicians, and contractor crews.
• Incident Reporting & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate near-misses, unsafe acts, conditions, and site incidents, compiling comprehensive root cause analysis reports and corrective action plans.
• Environmental & Waste Monitoring: Oversee industrial waste management, chemical storage safety, and spill containment protocols on site.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Mandatory Certification: Valid NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety). Additional IOSH or OSHA credentials are a plus.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated HSE experience within the oil, gas, petrochemical, or heavy energy sectors.
• Regulatory & Technical Expertise: Practical knowledge of Qatari environmental laws, energy sector safety standards, PTW management, and emergency response procedures.
• Soft Skills: Strong assertiveness, high observation skills, and excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Local Availability: Candidates currently based in Qatar with a transferable visa and valid NOC, or immediate availability, are strongly preferred.
