Position Summary

Brunel is currently recruiting an experienced Technical Lifting Lead for a long-term 36-month contract role in Qatar. This position serves as the core technical authority for all lifting, heavy rigging, crane operations, and material handling activities across major project developments. The lead will manage complex lifting plans, coordinate technical interfaces, and ensure strict safety and regulatory compliance during site execution.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Technical Lifting Coordination: Lead the technical review, endorsement, and approval of all critical, heavy, and complex lifting studies, rigging drawings, and method statements.
• Interface & Planning Management: Manage technical interfaces between project engineering teams, site construction, crane contractors, and transport vendors to ensure safe execution.
• Site Operational Oversight: Supervise complex tandem lifts, heavy haulage, and critical equipment installations on site; conduct pre-lift safety briefings and risk reviews.
• Equipment & Inspection Audit: Ensure all lifting appliances, gear, cranes, and rigging equipment used on site hold valid third-party inspection certifications and conform to local and international standards.
• Incident Investigation & Reporting: Analyze lifting near-misses or operational hazards, implement corrective actions, and maintain detailed technical performance logs.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Technical Competency: Proven subject-matter expertise in heavy lifting engineering, rigging calculations, crane capacity evaluations, and load charts.
• Soft Skills & Leadership: Strong problem-solving, strategic planning, team management, and organizational capabilities to manage multi-discipline site crews.
• Communication Skills: High fluency in written and spoken English for drafting technical procedures, risk assessments, and executive progress reports.
• Computer Literacy: Technical computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, lifting calculation tools, and engineering CAD/rigging software packages.
