Position Summary

A leading international recruitment partner, NES Fircroft, is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor for a major project-based contract assignment in Ras Laffan, Qatar. This on-site supervisory position is responsible for overseeing field electrical installations, preventive/corrective maintenance, and commissioning activities across large-scale Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and gas processing facilities while enforcing strict safety and quality standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Field Execution & Supervision: Direct and supervise daily electrical construction, cable pulling, termination, glanding, tray installation, and switchgear energization works at Ras Laffan site facilities.
• Maintenance & Commissioning Support: Oversee loop checking, relay testing, motor control center (MCC) commissioning, transformer maintenance, and pre-commissioning walkthroughs for gas processing plants.
• Safety & Permit Compliance: Enforce strict Permit-to-Work (PTW) protocols, Tool Box Talks (TBT), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and hazardous area (ATEX/IECEx) safety rules.
• Quality Assurance & Inspections: Perform technical inspections alongside QA/QC inspectors to ensure electrical installations match approved shop drawings, vendor specifications, and project standards.
• Subcontractor & Crew Management: Coordinate daily work schedules, manage site electricians and technicians, resolve field clashes, and report daily progress to site construction management.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8+ years of dedicated oil & gas experience, specifically within refinery, petrochemical, or LNG operating environments.
• Regional Background: Prior GCC work experience on major energy facilities is highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth hands-on knowledge of high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) equipment, hazardous area equipment maintenance, protection relays, and uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems.
• Certifications & Status: Valid COMPEX certification is an advantage; candidates currently in Qatar with a transferable visa / NOC or immediate availability are encouraged to apply.
