1. Key Responsibilities & Daily Operations
As the QA/QC Manager at Etihad Steel Factory, your primary role is establishing, managing, and continuously improving factory-wide quality systems and project compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of QA/QC inspectors, welding inspectors, and coating technicians across workshop fabrication floors.
- Oversee incoming material inspections, dimensional verifications, mill test report (MTR) validations, welding inspections (WPS/PQR/WQT), and non-destructive testing (NDT/UT/MT/PT/RT).
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCR), root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to minimize rework and material waste.
- Coordinate directly with third-party inspection agencies (TPIA), client representatives, and consultant engineers during factory acceptance audits and final inspections.
- Compile comprehensive manufacturing data books (MDB), quality dossiers, and surface treatment/paint inspection reports for project handovers.
