1. Key Responsibilities & Daily Operations
As a Sand Blaster at Etihad Steel Factory, your primary duties will center on executing high-quality surface cleaning and profile preparation for heavy steel structures:
- Operate abrasive blasting equipment (grit/shot/sand blasting) to clean and prepare structural steel beams, plates, pipes, and custom assemblies according to specified surface cleanliness standards (e.g., Sa 2.5 / SSPC-SP10).
- Remove grease, oil, rust, mill scale, old paint, and surface impurities from fabricated steel sections prior to primer application.
- Inspect and maintain blasting pots, hoses, nozzles, moisture separators, and personal protective equipment (air-fed blasting helmets, respirators, heavy-duty suits).
