1. Key Responsibilities & Welding Supervision Scope
As a Welding Foreman, your primary shop-floor supervisory and technical quality duties will include:
- Directing daily welding operations for qualified welders across SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG/MAG), and FCAW processes.
- Ensuring all welding activities comply strictly with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), AWS, and ASME codes.
- Managing welder qualification tests (WQT), monitoring welder performance, and maintaining welder continuity records.
- Coordinating closely with QA/QC inspectors to conduct pre-weld fit-up checks, interpass monitoring, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) clearance.
- Overseeing pre-heating and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) parameters where required for alloy and heavy structural steels.
- Enforcing workshop safety regulations, fume extraction protocols, PPE compliance, and hot-work safety procedures.
