Position Summary

EMCO Qatar is urgently recruiting a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer (Maintenance Projects) for full-time assignment across industrial plant sites and oil & gas facilities in Qatar. Following a recent walk-in recruitment cycle, the company is looking to onboard an agile civil engineer capable of managing ongoing civil maintenance, structural repairs, concrete rehabilitation, asphalt works, and plant facility upgrades in operating industrial environments.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Industrial Civil Maintenance: Supervise routine and emergency civil maintenance works, including structural concrete repairs, equipment foundation strengthening, paving, bund wall modifications, and drainage maintenance within industrial/plant limits.
• Site Supervision & Execution: Direct site crews, subcontractors, and technicians to execute civil scope according to approved Method Statements, safe work procedures, and plant shutdown schedules.
• Permit to Work (PTW) Management: Coordinate closely with safety departments to ensure valid Permit to Work (PTW), hot/cold work permits, and gas testing clearances are maintained prior to civil site execution in live oil & gas or industrial settings.
• Material & Scope Estimation: Prepare bill of quantities (BOQ), material requisitions, inspect incoming civil maintenance materials, and verify work completion for client sign-off.
• Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), industrial client safety standards, and environmental protection guidelines.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Work Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in civil maintenance, plant shutdown projects, or structural rehabilitation within oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial facilities in Qatar or the GCC.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of industrial concrete repair methods, waterproofing, steel structure erection/modifications, and earthworks under operational plant conditions.
• HSE & Safety Training: Familiarity with oil & gas safety protocols, hazard identification, and PTW systems. Valid H2S / Safety certifications are an added advantage.
• Residency Status & Availability: **Must be currently residing in Qatar** with a valid Qatar ID (QID) and ready for immediate joining with transferable status/NOC.
• Language & IT Skills: Excellent spoken and written technical English; proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and basic project planning tools.
