Position Summary

WTS Qatar is currently seeking a disciplined and safety-conscious IRATA Level 1 Rope Access Technician for full-time industrial deployment across Qatar. This position is responsible for performing specialized work at height across industrial plants, onshore/offshore oil & gas facilities, and commercial structures, adhering strictly to IRATA international safety codes, rigging standards, and site risk management protocols.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Rope Access Operations: Perform rigging, descent, ascent, and maneuver activities safely using dual-rope access systems under the direct supervision of Level 3 IRATA supervisors.
• Industrial Maintenance & Inspection: Carry out technical tasks at height, including structural inspection, maintenance, surface preparation, painting, rigging, or bolt torquing.
• Equipment Care & Pre-Use Checks: Conduct daily inspections of personal rope access gear (harnesses, lanyards, descenders, backup devices, helmets) and log gear integrity.
• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to IRATA International Codes of Practice (ICOP), site toolbox talks, job safety analyses (JSA), and emergency rescue plans.
• Hazard Identification: Recognize work-at-height hazards, verify anchor point reliability, and maintain clear communication with ground safety crew members.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

• Mandatory Certification: Valid **IRATA Level 1 Certification** with an up-to-date logbook.
• Industry Experience: Hands-on rope access experience in **industrial, marine, or oil and gas environments** is strongly preferred.
• Technical Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of work-at-height safety, fall prevention, harness fitting, and basic rigging systems.
• Physical Fitness: High level of physical fitness, medical clearance for working at height, and agility.
• Availability: Candidates currently residing in Qatar with immediate availability or valid transferable status are highly preferred.
