1. Key Responsibilities & Daily Operations
As a MIG Welder at Etihad Steel Factory, your primary duties will center on assembling, tacking, and executing high-quality structural welds according to project drawings and quality specifications:
- Perform high-quality MIG (GMAW) welding on structural steel components, I-beams, plates, columns, trusses, and custom assemblies.
- Read, interpret, and work directly from technical welding symbols, fabrication shop drawings, and engineering blueprints.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding equipment, wire feeders, shielding gas flows, and power source parameters for optimal penetration and bead appearance.
- Prepare metal joints by grinding, beveling, and cleaning surfaces prior to welding, and perform post-weld cleaning, slag removal, and spatter management.
- Conduct visual inspections on completed joints to ensure zero defects, proper weld size, and strict adherence to factory QA/QC and Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).
- Follow factory safety policies, wearing required PPE (welding helmet, leather apron, safety boots) at all times during shop floor operations.
