1. Key Responsibilities & Site Operations
As the Instrumentation Supervisor during the turnaround execution, your primary responsibilities will cover site leadership, technical verification, permit safety, and contractor team coordination:
- Supervise daily field instrumentation activities, including calibration, loop checking, overhaul, testing, and re-commissioning of control valves, transmitters, switches, and field sensors.
- Manage permit-to-work (PTW) preparation, hot/cold work clearances, and job safety analyses (JSA) before issuing site execution authorization to instrument technicians.
- Coordinate turnaround schedule milestones with project engineers, mechanical/piping leads, and safety supervisors to maintain strict target timelines.
- Perform technical inspections on installed instrumentation devices, cable trays, junction boxes, impulse piping, and control system loop interfaces.
- Troubleshoot field instrument failures during turnaround cold/hot loop testing and oversee loop check sign-offs prior to plant start-up.
- Enforce strict corporate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) rules, hazardous area equipment classifications, and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols across all active work sites.
