1. Key Responsibilities & Procurement Operations
As a Mechanical Procurement Engineer, your daily responsibilities will revolve around vendor sourcing, commercial comparisons, and materials management:
- Source mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, piping materials, valves, pumps, and industrial fittings from approved local and international manufacturers.
- Review project technical specifications, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and Material Requisitions (MR) to prepare precise Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages.
- Perform thorough technical and commercial bid evaluations (CBE), preparing comparative statements to present cost-effective material options to project management.
- Lead commercial negotiations on unit pricing, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings without compromising engineering quality.
- Issue formal Purchase Orders (POs) and Subcontracts using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, ensuring alignment with project terms and specifications.
- Coordinate with logistics providers, shipping agencies, and customs clearance agents to expedite material shipments and resolve supply chain delays.
