1. Key Responsibilities & QC Inspection Scope
As the QC Instrument Inspector during the turnaround execution, your core duties will focus on quality assurance, technical compliance verification, testing sign-offs, and documentation control:
- Perform stage-wise Quality Control (QC) inspections on all field instrumentation activities, including transmitters, control valves, orifice plates, junction boxes, cable tray routing, and tubing installations.
- Witness and verify field instrument calibrations, pressure/leak tests of pneumatic and impulse lines, and hot/cold loop checks against approved project ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans).
- Inspect explosion-proof (Ex-d/Ex-i) instrument enclosures, cable glands, grounding systems, and hazardous area sealing to ensure strict adherence to ATEX/IECEx standards.
- Review vendor test certificates, calibration bench reports, material test reports (MTR), and loop folders for accuracy and technical compliance.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), identify installation defects, log punch-list items, and verify corrective action implementations before plant re-commissioning.
- Maintain comprehensive inspection records, compile quality dossiers, and coordinate final loop check sign-offs between contractor teams and client quality representatives.
